How to Have a Stress Free Christmas

It’s the most wonderful time of the year but when it comes to Christmas, do you tell yourself every time! there will be no Christmas stress and you will be organised?

It never quite works out does it – once again you find yourself dashing madly around Tesco’s on Christmas Eve, panicking because all the mince pies have sold out, you’ve not wrapped a single present, and all you want to do is collapse on your Sleepeezee Bed.

Of course, there are steps you can take to avoid Christmas stress reaching the top of the tree. We have put together our top tips to help you avoid stress and to make the season of goodwill more enjoyable:

Christmas stress

Make lists

Santa’s making a list, checking it twice and so should you!

Sometimes it can feel like an overwhelming task organising Christmas presents, food and parties during the festive season so writing things down first in order of priority can save you a lot of time and energy.

Not only is it satisfying ticking tasks off, but it’s a proven Christmas hack to help reduce stress too.

Prep food in advance

Don’t leave it all until the big day. Do yourself a favour and prep as many food items as you can in advance for a stress-free Christmas. Repeat after us… the freezer is your friend!

Take some time out

We all need a time out at Christmas. Leave the chaos behind and take yourself for a walk or just find a quiet corner and practice some mindfulness meditation.

Avoid too many commitments.

Most likely, your December schedule will be jam-packed with party invitations, family gatherings, shopping trips and god knows what else!

But you don’t have to do everything on your calendar. You are in control! Remember, you can’t be everywhere at the same time. You can only attend so many family dinners, drive so far, and give so much.

Remember what the Christmas season is about.

Christmas time is meant to be a season filled with joy, merriment and food.

Carve out time with family and friends to reconnect with one another. You want to actually remember Christmas this year, right? So stop, take a deep breath, have a glass of fizz and don’t let the month go by in a total blur!

Sleepeezee’s Top 4 Summer Bedroom Trends

Summer is here and it just so happens that August is our favourite month!

Whilst most of you will be distracted by fantastic holiday destinations and an array of summer celebrations, your home also deserves some love and attention too!

If you’re thinking about your next decorating project but aren’t sure where to start, we’ve compiled this season’s hottest summer bedroom trends below:

Feminine Tones

Add a subtle feminine touch to your bedroom this season by choosing a palette of dusty pinks, blush tones and metallic accents. Warm and inviting, these colours will instantly update an otherwise neutral scheme. As such, we’ve made sure to include these tones in our latest photography shoot!

Soft Tropics

For a room that won’t go unnoticed, look to tropical-inspired homewares and accessories. Bold wallpapers are going from strength to strength this season, as tropical-inspired prints bring a burst of energy into any room, big or small. This uplifting trend helps to connect us back to nature, and this is something that we champion throughout our Pure collection. Expertly crafted by our team, we’ve sourced only the finest natural fillings – including British wool and cashmere – for our luxurious Pure mattresses.

Refined Glamour

The summer we’ve definitely noticed that glam is less sheen and more sophisticated. Luxury materials such as marble and velvet are beautifully mixed together to create fine decorative details that will bring a touch of magic to your bedroom. We love this trend, and our fabrics and divans reflect this as they radiate decadence.

Geometric Patterns

If you’re looking to bring a contemporary edge to your bedroom, look no further than geometric detailing. Updating your bedroom by adding defined repeating shapes can be soothing and reassuring to the eye as they create a sense of order. Using geometric patterns to accentuate the focal point of your room will instantly draw your eye, especially if you dare to combine it with colour like below – and who doesn’t want their bed to be the star of the room?

Any one of these trends is sure to transform your bedroom this season, and if you’re feeling particularly brave, why not mix it up and combine some of them?

7 Easy Ways to Boost Your Energy Levels

We all know the feeling – you wake up tired, groggy and then you seem to spend the entire day yawning…

You’re not the only one!

With this in mind, we’ve rounded up some useful tips below to boost your energy levels throughout the day.

Hydration Is Key

Always ensure that you are drinking enough water! As water is the main component of our body, keeping those H2O levels topped up is essential for fighting off tiredness.

Eat Your Greens

We all know the saying – ‘you are what you eat’ – and so feeling tired is naturally linked to our diet. Your body needs fuel to keep you going throughout the day, and so by choosing a healthy diet that is packed full of nutrients is key.

Why don’t you set yourself a challenge to eat more energy boosting foods this week? Almonds, bananas, sweet potato and avocados are ideal.

Work It Out

Don’t let yourself sink into the sofa for too long – it’s best to prioritise some time for exercise. Regular exercise is so important for your body as it can significantly improve your mood and helps to increase the level of endorphins that our body releases.

Be Mindful

Between work, home and day-to-day routines, stress is everywhere in our hectic lives. Over a period of time this can take its toll and can leave you feeling exhausted. However, you can overcome this through mindfulness. Try some quick mindful breathing and feel your energy boosted throughout the day.

Cut Back On The Sweet Stuff

Yes sugary treats can give you a short-term energy boost but it will wear off quickly! Keep your energy levels more stable and reduce fatigue by eating nutritious foods.

Listen To A Playlist

Listening to a playlist of your favourite feel-good songs is a great way to boost your energy. Remember to add to the playlist every time you hear a song that gives you a quick pick-me-up feeling.

The Bottom Line

Whilst all of the above tips can help boost our energy throughout the day, they will only help to a certain extent dependent on the amount of sleep you are getting each night.

Lack of sleep can result in feeling lethargic, grumpy and tired. If you often feel this way, you may want to consider whether you’re getting enough sleep.

It’s worth taking a look at your lifestyle to see which healthy changes you can make to boost your energy levels and our sleep tips to ensure you’re receiving the best night’s sleep.

How To Avoid Tiredness At Work

Do you often find yourself feeling tired at work and tempted to shut your eyes – just for a minute? You’re not alone.

Whether you work full time, part time or from home, everyone’s energy flags now and then – and for many reasons. But if you’re constantly running out of steam at work, it could be your brain’s way of signalling that you’re burnt out.

Fear not, we’ve pulled together five top tips to help you stay more alert at work…

Stay hydrated

We all know we’re supposed to drink between six and eight glasses (1.2 litres) of water per day but many of us admittedly fall short – and the dehydration can affect our energy and focus at work.

Sipping caffeine may give you a short term boost but drinking water throughout the day is far more effective – and healthier!

Revive your senses

Circadian rhythms regulate our sleep cycle and are influenced by sunlight so try to spend at least 30 minutes outside each day. This will increase your alertness throughout the day and promote good sleep at night.

Give your eyes a break

Many of us spend too much time behind a screen at work – as well as on our smart phones throughout the day.

Try to avoid staring at your screen for long periods at a time as the strain on your eyes can make you seriously tired. Also, why not read a book at lunch time instead of scrolling social media?

Start a conversation

If you feel yourself drifting away, engage in a conversation with one of your colleagues to help stimulate your mind.

Or, if you’re worried about disturbing co-workers, you could pop in your headphones and listen to some energising music.

Stand up

Sitting for too long can make you feel tired so if possible, stand or walk round the office regularly.

Desks that can adjust to standing positions offer great options for people who just need to work through a lull or want to get the benefits of added circulation.
